When I was over in England for the Bulldog Bash ( 1999 ) I bought a new fairing, a Detour Predator, which really lives up to it's name ! Dual headlights ( duhh ) and carbonlook, which will be sprayed to match the rest of the paintwork somewhere this winter.

I had my rearwheel converted to an 18" item. A company here in Holland cut out the original centrehub of the 15" wheel and bolted it to a new 18" rim, I had it painted black before having an AVON AZZARO 180/55/18 tire fitted. The tirecompany had to take a tireprofile"knife" and cut off about 4 mm of the leftside of the tire where it touched the swingarm ( that's the lint you see on the floor in front of the tire ).I'll have to modify the swingarm there when I take the rear apart again . It did wonders for the roadbehaviour of the VMax. Well worth the investment. It feels much more steady in corners now. Because the tire is flatter it doesn't "flex" like the 15" item did.

The sound of the bike improved with the addition of these stainless steel BSM VAMPIRE exhausts.

In this picture you can also see the billet aluminum torquearm.

Before going to the Bulldog I installed a BARNETT spring conversion on the clutch and at the same time added an extra clutchplate to prevent it from slipping with the full power applied . I'll be bying a transparent clutch cover from MEK to show the nice purple Titanium ring.

Well, today 15 December 1999 I came back from HYPERPRO, who had my VMax for another couple of days. They did the final fitting of their new TWIN SHOCK rearsuspension on my bike, and then called me with an offer I just couldn't refuse, so they left them on my bike. This also improved the behaviour of the bike: on the way back from their shop it felt like there were no bumps in the road!
